Narrow Your Search

Where in the WWW is it?
(Searching is a CINCH!)

Narrow Your Search

Is this a strategy you would use frequently? Hey, you're almost done with the searching strategies! Only one more to go!

Field Search/text

text:rockhound

Keyword Search: Field Search/text

Finds pages that contain the specified text in any part of the page other than an image tag, link, or URL. The search text:rockhound would find all pages with the term rockhound in them. Word text must be written in lower case only.

Now use the "Practice Exercise" below to try out this concept. You can either use key concepts that you brainstormed earlier in this course or use the "rock" suggestions seen in the above left-hand column.

After completing the practice exercise, go to the next page.
